Thermal Death
    #532188 -

I have forgotten what the "thermal death" mark is for psilocybe cubensis. My friend's cat innoculated some jars yesterday and knows that temps went up to ~88.7 f (max temp on digital therm). Will his spores be ok and germ? thanks.

The thermal death temp for mycelium is 106 f. I am not sure if this stands for spores or not, just my $.02

I dont know if many are familiar, but any temp over 100 can envoke growth of contams. I have had my digital thermometer read 102 and 101 on the high memory during incubation numerous times. I was using a heating pad in an incubator. I now use a timer that goes on for 1/2 hour, then off for 1 hour. This has kept my range between 74 and 100 degrees. And I get full colonization of the substrate within 2 to 3 weeks with this method. Hope that helps...
