Besides Limewire

are there any free site for downloading music besides lime wire? for some reason every time i use lime wire it always tells me that its waiting on host, or busy host, or qued(sp?). i have a pretty fast computer but it still takes me an hour just to download one song because lime wire is gay. or is all sites like this. please help, I'm trying to put together a few real good mushie cd's for when i trip. thanks

Limewire is filled with viruses and trojans in my experience.

That your download has not begun. Try downloading from someone else. Typically the search results that come up in dark black as opposed to lighter gray download faster. You might be in line behind a bunch of people.

That means you have to wait before it downloads.

Right click and choose 'get place in line' and that will tell you how many people are in the queue before you.

You sometimes have to wait to download stuff, but I've never gotten a virus, spyware, trojan, or anything like that from soulseek. Haven't gotten a misnamed file either.. you get what you download in my experience.

I normally only download from sources without a queue. Those will show up in black as opposed to grey when you search.

Yeah, I love soulseek.  Great selection too, in my experience.  I got almost all of my metal from soulseek  :thumbup:

My music folder is showing at 97GB.. pretty sure almost all of it is from soulseek.
You can find just about anything there. The most obscure stuff you can think of really.

Oink IS really good. I don't download much music anymore, but my boyfriend uses Oink a lot and there's a ton of good stuff.

dude, I'm using imesh and in 5 minutes i got 8 songs downloaded. there's no waiting, busy host, or pending. you can download 50 songs at a time with no problem and its all FREE. they have every song i need and its good quality.
