Can pasteurized straw be frozen?
    #616002 - 04/23/02 01:58 AM (22 years, 8 months ago)

I was just wondering if I could cook up a bunch of straw and then freeze it in gallon bags. Would it still be good days or weeks later?

Id go with No on this one.
Only because you really would want to use the freshest ingredients for your guys. I think being in a freezer, you would looks the beneficial bacteria. I am really not positive to this answer but, you'd have to be better off by just using it ASAP!

You could go the opposite route and colonize all the straw and then refrigerate (not freeze!) the colonized substrate (well wrapped!) until you are ready to case it.
