Have I hit Lib Cap jackpot + other possibles (PICS)
    #6143236 -

Went out hunting and came across a LOAD of shrooms, the ones i most suspect to be lib caps were at the base of a tree growing in clusters;

Habitat - Base of a tree trunk, growing in muddy soil
Gills - Dark and all detatched
Stems - white and about 3-4mm wide 4-5cm tall
Cap - yellowy brown, conical, thin grooves running down the sides
I haven't had them long enough to see what colour they bruise although im hoping they bruise blue.
Smell - dark, thick and spongey i'd describe it.

I know that lib caps are supposed to have little nipples at the top but none of these do, theyre mostly round and smooth.

Those are not Libs. Im pretty sure they are inky caps, not active. Dont consume. Libs grow in tall grass, lawns, and pasture lands.

I found quite a few patches of these growing in my yard this year as well. Definately not liberty caps. They don't even seem to resemble them in any way that I can tell. Not sure what they are, but I'd imagine they're not active.

its much better said GHEY (in the way u mean it as stupid or bad) if youve nothing against em.

anyways, do they look like they have glitter all over them?
coprinus micaceus has a glittery-like appearance to the cap. they also might be coprinus atramentarius, either way they arent active, keep looking, good luck.

For future information if you find libs they probably won't be close clusters like the inky caps. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

"probably" is correct

but there is the rare exception.

"locally to gregariously abundant"

is the proper description
