It's best to eat shrooms on an empty stomach.

I've heard that if you eat them on a completely empty stomach, that they will go almost streight into your intestines, and not soak into your system. I've heard that you should eat a piece of bread first. That way, the bread will delay the arrival of the shrooms into your intestines, and thus give your stomach more time to obsorb the shrooms. Am I right?

i eat a large breakfast the day of the trip.. then trip in the mid- afternoon/evening.  for some reason, i take vitamins too.. but they can't hurt, right? :wink:

to me there is nothing worse than being hungry durring a trip, so i eat a decent meal to avoid the rumbblies,

i eat mush an hour later,...sometimes with cooked shiitake!

If you chew the shrooms up, eating them on an empty stomach shouldn't be a problem. That is, if they are fresh. I don't know about you but I don't like to chew dried shrooms, it's not so much the taste but the texture that makes me gag. I like to chew them pretty well... usually I start tripping before I am even done eating them as a lot of psilocybin gets absorbed in the mouth. Of course that could be because I like to take my time eating them.. I usually take a good half hour to eat 4 or 5 medium sized shrooms, munch on one.. chill for a minute... munch some more.. Of course, if you do the small piece swallow method like some people seem to favor to bypass the taste, then eating a light meal a half hour or so before you consume the mushies wont do any harm.

Your stomach doesn't absorb the nutrients and such from food, it breaks it down so that they can be absorbed in your intestines, thats what intestines do.

Yeah.. I didn't say the stomach absorbs nutrients. I was saying if you have an empty stomach the mushrooms will go through your system faster than if you already had food in there.

I eat healthy for a few days a lot of veggies, on the day of the voyage I eat a good salad with some toast, first I take the ground rue in gel caps, 45 minutes before taking the shroom, with I grind in the coffee grinder and measure 4 or 5G and spoon it into my mouth and mix it with a lot of saliva, at the same time pressing my nostrils, so I wont taste the shrooms (makes me gag) gulp it down with some oj, after all is done 6 or 7 papaya pills to help the digestion big help!

I usually eat normally on the day of the dose. However, before the dose I'll eat a meal with a wonderful shroomy smoothie to chase it all down...!

Orange Juice
Frozen Strawberries
2 to 3 tablespoons of Vanilla yogurt
fresh cubensis!!

Blend it all up in a blender and enjoy! The shroom taste really isn't a factor and you'll be tripping in no time....

fasting before a trip is serious preperation, just as 5 grams in dark silence is serious tripping.
i say less==>more, less dilution in other digested food, more apt to get better affects

Put them in my mouth, chew, and dont forget to swallow!

I've heard that you should stay away from dairy products before tripping. I've had just as good experiences with shrooms without fasting first then with. I've eaten a whole footlong subway sub once before tripping and still had a decent time for the dosage I took.
