Botched drug raid map
    #6094863 -

This is pretty interesting, and really shows how fucked up police raids are. Some of the sickest shit is when they raid the wrong house, and end up shooting someone. Of course theres probably some bias, some of the people who did have drugs may have actually tried to assault the cops, but in many cases it was simple self defense, i mean what would you do if men in black masks broke into your house!

Fucking hotdog cops with their pretty new toys, I swear. A few years or so ago, they botched a raid in Nashville by going to the wrong address and shot a 60-something year-old man. Someone needs to put a muzzle on these guys.

EDIT: Oops. According to that website it was actually in Lebanon, TN.

"Lloyd Smalley and Lillian Weiss.

In 1989, police in Minneapolis, Minnesota conduct a drug raid at the home of elderly African-American couple Lloyd Smalley and Lillian Weiss after a bad tip from an informant.

The flashbang grenades police use in the raid set the home on fire. Police are certain no one is inside, and so at first make no attempt at rescue. Smalley and Weiss die of smoke inhalation. Police had raided the wrong house."

One of the more fucked up raids. This makes me sick

The Branch Davidian Raid.

More than 70 federal agents seize a religious compound in Waco, Texas on suspicion of firearms violations.

After a lengthy standoff, agents begin firing "ferret rounds" into the building, then demolish the building with tanks. Gunfire breaks out, and the compound goes up in flames. 76 people, indluding 27 children, die in the flames and gunfire.

Clayton Helriggle.

More than two dozen police officers emerge from from the nearby woods and swarm the farmhouse of Clayton Helriggle, 23, and his four roommates. The most experienced members of the team have less than four hours of tactical training, while others have never trained with the SWAT team before. The search is based on very little surveillance and tips from an informant, who is awaiting sentencing for more than a dozen crimes and would later be charged with lying to law enforcement officials.

As they enter the farmhouse, officers detonate several flashbang grenades on the first floor, then use a battering ram to force their way in side. As police in shields and body armor subdue three of the house's occupants, Helriggle, asleep in the upstairs bedroom, is awakened by the commotion and descends down the stairs. Police at the scene would later say Helriggle was carrying a handgun at the time of the raid. Helriggle's roommates would insist that, while Helfiggle did own a licensed handgun, he'd left it in the bedroom and was holding a blue cup of water when he came down the stairs.

Whatever Helriggle was holding, his last words--"What's going on?"--indicate he wasn't aware that the armed intruders in his home were police. A SWAT team member interpreted the item in his hand to be a gun, and put a single shotgun blast into Helriggle's chest. Helriggle died at the scene, in the arms of one of his roommates.

Helriggle's family says he was a recreational marijuana smoker, though not a dealer. Police found less than an ounce of marijuana in the house, and no charges were filed against any of the house's occupants. In January 2004, an Ohio prosecutor conceded, "I think it's fair to say that there was no drug dealing by Mr. Helriggle."

The farmhouse resident who held Helriggle in his arms as he bled to death later told the Dayton Daily News that his thought immediately after the raid was, "Wow, they took down a farm of unarmed hippies." He added, "If they would have come to the door and said, 'Give us your dope, hippies,' we'd have gotten about a $100 ticket."

Despite the inexperience and admitted mistakes of the raiding officer, and that the informant whose tip was the primary reason for the raid, no charges were ever filed against any law enforcement official for Helriggle's death.

Dep. Joseph Whitehead.

On March 23, 2006, 12 officers conduct a 1:30 am no-knock drug raid on a house in Macon, Georgia. During the raid, Dep. Whitehead is shot and killed by residents Antron Dawayne Fair and Damon Antwon.

Bibb County Sheriff Jerry Modena told the Macon Telegraph that once the suspects realized the raiding party was law enforcement and not gang members, they surrendered immediately.

Nevertheless, prosecutors charged five of the residents with murder, including one who wasn't in the building at the time. The two who actually fired weapons during the raid face the death penalty.

Even though I don't trust the Federal Government as far as I can throw them, I believe that those nutcases started the fires themselves.

i could swear i saw video survailance of the people in the building with illegal firearms and other munitions, like hand grenades, but that was years ago. I live a couple hours out of waco, so this was local news...

Also GnuBobo, i think IF jesus did come back, he would probably be greeted close to the same way.

it's impossible to determine the legality of a firearm from a video, they had
hellfire trigger systems on their guns, perfectly legal, the fact that they
were stockpiling was enough to send up red flags
