reverse tolerance?
    #6025459 -

Ok, is there such a thing as reverse tolerance when it comes to shrooms?

Because I had an insanely intense trip about a month ago, and ever since then, it's taken me less and less shrooms to absolutely lose my mind. I get a sick stomach, and the shits, and i just feel entirely uneasy. This last time I did them, which would be about 3 hours ago, i only ate a fresh cap and a little of a stem, i'd say maybe 8 g's wet... so a .8 g equivelant...

I felt it come on strong after about 15 minutes, and then after 30, i went and had to puke... for the rest of the time I just sat here in my bed tossing and turning and can't stop thinking about the most retarde d things ever. even now i have no idea if i'm making any sense.... but this never used to happen on such a low dose... I used to dose low like this and I could have a conversation with other people i'm tripping with, and I'd feel great.. whereas now, i just feel like a sick, disoriented idiot.

Should I give psychadelics a long break? few months?

Do you think I'll be able to trip normal again?

"Should I give psychadelics a long break? few months"?
I would say yes, but its not going to help you to ever "trip normal again". You inherently will trip differently everytime you trip. They will likely build upon each other. Not that they never added up in this way for you before, it will just be much easier to notice some of these more profound effects.

Do you think I'll be able to trip normal again"?

I actually would have to say no. Thats not a bad thing though if you learn how to work with the mushroom and learn what it is you want from it at this stage. Such sensitivity is often a sign, not of loosing control, but you are reaching a critical period in this psychedelic life of yourse. This makes some people turn away from using hallucinogens, others find mushrooms to be harder on them only because the greatest things they have to offer are at your fingertips. The body reacts strongly to a strong trip, even a very low dose.

Try not to feel like an idiot. You will probably need to work a bit harder than you ever did before to understand your next steps and how to control them.
I only know this because years ago I had a turning point just like this. To this day I can trip very hard off of .5 grams.

But ya, give it a break for a little while and aclimate to all your last trips. MY main point is that your sensitivity could almost literally be explained as, "the mushrooms are telling you something".
What they are telling does not have to be a bad thing.

When you have dosed many many times, it becomes easier and easier to delve deep without even trying. So expect more from very little, and treat your doses accordingly.

You can find your niche again, but it will never and can never be the same, unless you are too unobservant to ever figure that out.
People who expect the same great feeling every time and never figure this out, are probably in for a suprize, unless they are a total vegitable. For those people, the teachings will stagnate and they might actually "get tired" of using mushrooms.
Your trips will evolve in some way, and high doses have taught this simple fact to many people in little time. These evolutions can be rather intense, such as what you are experiencing. It is different for everybody though.

thanks yageman... I can see what you're saying.

I can see the differences in my super intense trip a month ago, and the 3 times i've done it since, even though I really want to lump them all into the same catagory. Seems like since 'the becoming' (which is what i call the intense trip), that each experience after has been a small, different version of the same trip.

I think I'll give the psychs a small break here for a while... I in no way intend on stopping.

I should post my edit just so you can read it if you want.

Thanks man... Looks like no more shits and giggles for me

Although it does seem the comedown is now the most natural feeling part of the trip, and I really have always enjoyed the afterglow.

Seems like in 20 years I'll be saying "I remember the days when I didn't have to fight 30 demons to enjoy this comedown".  Seems cheesy, but I really think it's getting to the point where I'm paying the mushrooms with a part of my mind, for the lovely feeling I get afterwards...
