Beyonce, but she isnt R&B but she still sings good, I like her in fact ever since she got popular.

Tons:

1) Whitney Houston --Old whitney. As far as I'm concered the best female voice ever.

2) Anita Baker/Toni Braxton - Nice warm alto voices good lyrics (cept some of Toni's older stuff).

3) Tamia - Highly underrated girl with a powerful voice excellent range too.

4) Patti Labelle - The one and only :-)

5) Gladys Knight - Paved the way for many singers today

6) Janis Joplin - Her voice is very rough but she does have good inflections. A lot of her stuff is soul-rock. Pretty good.

7) Jennifer Hudson - Robbed American Idol. Most poweful voice and best technique out of AI females IMO.

8) Alicia Keys.....Amazing lyricist and great singer. And she can tear up a piano as well.

Well I'm a big Soul/R&B fan so send me a message if u want any album/song suggestions

But by all means none of the chicks today qualify as good singers....maybe christina aguilera...

BTW There's nothing fruity about Soul and R&B. Soul is a pioneer for tons of music espeically Rock &roll (Miss Tina Turner/James brown)

so any1 who thinks that is uninformed.
