PW420's Marijuana Grow Log

Hey Kids,

I decided to compose a grow log to be able to exchange ideas and track my progress. You might be asking "Why are you composing a marijuana grow log on a site devoted to magic mushrooms? What the fuck PhatWhitey? What the fuck?" Well in the past I've found this community to be a kind good place to exchange ideas and to gain information. I credit my grow log (My Mushroom Grow Log) and the wealth of information and help I received in it for my success in my mushroom growing. I hope to have the same thing here. If this in the wrong place or not wanted here feel free to delete or move this.

I've tried to post this three times today but the gremlins have been following me. Hopefully this one makes it online.

Day Two

So I'm in day two right now. Right now I'm currently following this guide  [url=
&q=cannabis+growing&hl=en]Stoned Free Guide to Cannabis Growing[/url] I have 40 seeds that were donated to me. About 20 seeds are wrapped in a wet paper towel in a plastic bag sitting on my window sill. They should be ready to plant tomorrow.

I got lucky today, I found about eight 500 watt lights. They look like HPS lights but I'm not sure. As soon as I get to my computer at home I'll research the details on those lights but they look right. I'm pretty excited because this solves a huge problem and especially solves some financial concerns. I'm really really excited about these lights.

I went out today and hit up Mclendon's, Lowe's, and Home Depot trying to find Premier Pro-Mix (check it out here) potting soil which as I understand from what I've read online to be read to use for growing weed out of the bag. I could not for the life of me find this stuff so I had to settle for some Scott's potting soil that supposedly is good for seeds from Home Depot. I'll probably move the plants to some better soil when I get it. But for now I just want to get the seeds into some soil and under some light.

So tomorrow is three days and I'll move the seeds to some pots and put them under those lights I found. I'm strapped for cash so I might put the seeds into those red plastic cups you get at keggars and poke holes into the bottom of the cups.

good luck.

I've never grown mj in soil, but i know the reason people recommend against Miracle Grow is because it has a time release fertilizer in it.

Time release would make it very hard to calculate proper feeding nutes.

So as long as your soil does not have a time release fertilizer in it, it should be good.


Also, Ive never heard of a 500W HPS. Make sure its HPS or Metal Halide.

Do you know the strain of your beans? It is very helpful if you know your strain because different strains stretch more than others & flowering times vary from 5 weeks to 14 weeks.

I have no idea what these lights are, I just know they're bright as hell and big. They look a lot like the ones in the pictures of pro grow rooms I've been looking at. They also look pretty old. Any idea how I can track down what kind of lights they are.

I think this soil be okay and even if it isn't it's just temporary. I saw pictures today of what looked like people growing plants in hydroton which tripped me out because I don't know how that would work. If that's a better growing material than that's cool because I still have tons of that stuff left from the mushroom grow op.

I have no idea what kind of beans I got, like I said these were just randomly donated seeds from a friend. So who knows what's going to happen. I know this probably isn't a smart move to be growing weed seeds I don't know but it's just because I wanted to get started on this as soon as I could. I do plan to get decent seeds from a reputatable source in the future.

500w HPS are very rare, generally they're only produced in 250w, 400w, 600w & 1000w. I don't know how to track down the lights you found (unless you found them in a skip outside 'Al's 500w Metal Halide Lamps') but I'd check them out with a light meter to see what kind of intensity of light you're getting.

Day Three...

So here we are in day three. Looking at the seeds on my window sill, about five have the twenty have obviously sprouted and I can see small vines coming out of the seeds through the plastic bag. There could be more but I won't be sure until I open up the bag to look tonight. All in all if I get five seeds to sprout I'm still happy with that considering the seeds are free and I have no idea what condition they were in.

I love the dollar store. I bought a bunch of foam coffee cups with which to use as pots for the seeds.

I also found a near abundant supply of 1,000 watt theater lights. Not sure if those are any good and I don't know how to track down the info.

Anyway that's where I stand right now, I'll post more tonight if anything new develops.

you probably have mercury vapor lights. similar in operation to HPS and MH but totally wrong for growing plants under.

you're going to need to spend a little money on a grow light if you want decent plants.

Also, GET SOME QUALITY SEEDS. Grow them out, determine sex, weed out males, veg a mother, and CLONE. You need high quality STABLE genetics, growing from seeds found in a bag is a no-go... but feel free to learn the hard way...

Thats a halogen. no good. creates concentrated hot-spots and poor overall spectrum.

If you are looking to grow extremely cheaply, you can pick up some compact fluorescents at home depot/Lowe's that will get the job done OK. They cost around $30 each...

Otherwise, check out that link I put up on the last page and do things properly...

I think I need to somehow find $200 and do this right.

Where does one get seeds in the US?

Last time I ordered seeds (a couple years ago) it was from "The Amsterdam seed company of Canada" Good experience... google that and see what you come up with.

So I guess I'll order this This in a couple days. I guess I'll start completely over... grrr...

I still need to find someplace that'll sell me some seeds. I really don't want to do it over the internet and on my credit card... but what other options do I have?

Right now I got the seeds sitting under the halogens... because well... why not? Fuck it... I know it won't work and this and that but might as well give it a shot and see what happens.

It'll take months before my seeds become smokeable anyway... I guess it's worth a couple extra days and a couple extra bucks to do it right. Makes me sad though because since I'm buying lights and seeds I'm going to have to wait awhile to get this which is the whole point of why I'm doing this. But it's all good.

I'm going to keep working through this and keep posting in this thread with progress and all that stuff. Thanks y'all.

You can order from an internet company by mail, with a money order. that way it wont show up on your credit card and shit...

Can you get seeds from Canada? More specifically is there any head shops or anything like that selling seeds in Canada?
