Only seen em once, beyond incredible to see though. I wish i could see them again at will. Or for that matter sometime soon.

apparently it was pretty strong the other night, lots of spottings as south as the USA and michigan.

no the auroras are caused by solar flares, which usually take about a day or so to get from the sun to the earth, causing geo-mmagnetic storms.

we only at most have 3 days notice (depending on the speed of the charged particles)

personally i just set my homepage to the below listed link, which is probably one of the best sources for info, and check it daily, its quite an event. The largest solar flare on record about 3 years ago was what got me into this, i drove all the way to iowa just to beat the cloud line and see it. amazing.

so is this still going on right now? i dont have to work tomorrow and i might be getting some mushies later.

i know of a few places i can get out of the city lights. what exactly do they look like?
