Where can I find rye

I've check many health food stores and they only have rye flour, so where can I find whole rye? Just any general type store I can find in the phone book will be fine.

Also, in MMGG it says to pull back the plunger on the needle to let air in so you can shake it up. Doesn't this run the risk of introducing contams or is it a safe process?

go back to the healthfood stores and ask them about ordering you whole rye in bulk... you can get a 50 LB bag for around 10-20 dollars... just go check at the stores you already went to... have to ask though

thanks, I'll try, but shouldn't there be a place to buy it? I live in Toronto (pop. 2 000 000) so shouldn't I be able to find a store that sells rye? I probably will order it, but just in case it will take a long time I'd like to have a backup source.

come on be patient man i dunno about up there in canada but all the stores here takes 1 week, you can sometimes get it at feed stores, but it is out of season so you wont be able to find it...

Its just that I'd like to get started ASAP. I'll be patient if I have to but I'd like to grab some rye today or tomorrow. I'd also like to find a steady source for future reference, just incase I run out at the wrong time. But thanks for the info LSD.

Well, good luck trying to find it today or tomorrow. Not even the local feed stores around here carry rye. I had to order some over the 'net. Dr. Bluthumbs has the best price, which you can find here:

I guess its my lucky day because I went into a health food store to ask them to order it and it turns out they had it. It says 'org. rye kernels' on the bag, I'm assuming kernels are the same thing as berries or seed. 2.69/Kg canadian dollars, is that a good price?

as to your second quistion pull a letile air in it strap it to a vibrator and turn it on for a few minutes

see, usually health food stores carry the small lb bags, but there a rip off, its fine to get them to get started though, pick some of them up and have them order you a 50 lb bag which will last a long ass time.... and when it starts getting low just go order another bag....
