Use an infected cake for liquid inocc.?

Would it be possible to grind up a cake that already has mycellia running totally thruogh it? Then add this mixture to a larger amount of substrate? Of course I know that it would have to be done sterile like.

well, if it is infected like the title of your thread says, no. but if you have a brf cake that is sterile (just birthed into a plastic bag, cumbled in the bag, and added to sterile substrate) then you can. i would try to use a glovebox or a see thru trash bag with lysol COATING the inside (see grain transfers) my friend recently used a 1/2 pint to innoc. a quart of birdseed. it is now about 30% complete with no contams thus far.
