Martha Stewart Set-up

So, I think I want to go with a martha stewart set-up with a cool mist and a fogger, or something. This set-up as I remember would probably be better for casing in quantities and for better humidification. Can anyone tell me how they have theirs or their freinds set-up. I know I've seen good threads or grow guides, but I have lost them. Thankyou

Just search through the forums for Martha setups.. You'll find plenty of pics
If you want to see a pro's, just look at Hippiechick's gallery, now there's someone to ask about it
good luck

I'd like to see a Magash vs. Hippiechick cook-off, like they do on the food network.
I think those two devote as much time posting teks as they do to the rest of the hobby! I love you both

Oh man, I would love to watch that - except for watching the spawn colonize.

So, do I need a cool mist and an ultra sonic or can I get away with just a cool mist?

i think the best way is that suggested by RR. put 1 coolmist INSIDE of your martha, and leave the door cracked open for air exchange. ive never done this, im actually putting one together today. but if RR says it works.... it works. he even runs his coolmist on a timer, 1min ON / 6min OFF.
i eventually stopped using that ultra sonic in my old setup, and a few times is got me in trouble. if you leave one of those on for a few hours, you will have a very wet martha!

Well, I just got back from mushroom-mart and baught an ultra sonic, toobs, a martha and a shelf to go inside. I'm about to set it up and then run for a few days to see what happens. If the ultra sonic produces too much moisture, then mabye I'll experiement with a timer.

yeah RR's setup is nice and easy only prob is the timer situation. He has a link for a decent priced one but it's still about $120

but you dont need the timer, i think you can just leave it on all day. im trying 30min on/30min off right now, ill let you know how that works.

Funny, I just set-up my martha stewart. I don't think I will test mine for a little bit as my jars have a couple weeks at least. But, the ultra sonic seems like it should work well.

might as well start testing it out now. It can sometimes take a while to get it just where you want it..

the humidity seems to be holding at about 80%, and there are a fair amount of water droplets and the shelves, but not enough to constitute a problem. i also remembered another RR trick that in addition to these should be all i need. -1 coolmist INSIDE on cheap timer 30minON/30minOFF -loose door -WAX PAPER OVER EACH CASING.
RRabbit say: Air exchange is provided by the very loose fitting door. My greenhouse is framed with PVC pipe and covered with plastic sheeting. I got all the parts at the hardware store for less than $35. I'd say it's twice to three times the size of the Martha closet. I didn't put zippers or anything else to seal the door, so it's open on both sides from floor to ceiling. This provides for plenty of air exchange, and the cool mist humidifiers have no problem keeping the humidity right around 85% to 90%, which is perfect for cased substrates. When I use it for cakes or straw logs, etc., that require higher humidities, I simply cover them with wax paper which holds in the humidity in that specific area while still fitting loose enough to allow gas/air exchange. RR
