when i used it finely ground like that, my casing mix seemed really muddy and the Myc had a hard time working through it. but yeah, it does work, its a cheap alternative to coir.

Just don't get sphagnum moss. It's the course, stringy stuff used to line wire baskets so they'll hold soil for hanging houseplants. It's obviously different if you see it, but sometimes in a closed bag it can escape notice until you get home and try to use it. RR

You can definately use sphagnum peat moss... It's the b o m b. And when I got my sphagnum peat moss, I bought the hippie 'mother earth' bullshit kind, and guess what.. ph of 6.5! Damn, guess what those hippies did... they added some lime to that bitch, all ready for me to use, whatya think of that!

hey anyone got a link to a tek or growlog that uses peat moss? ive never done a casing before but i got a bag of peat moss spagnum and im just not sure how to use it right.
questions :
i know how to get the water content right...but do i sterlize it or patureize it....how? i prefer not to pc it lol.
i was wanting to use just peat moss i assume its possible and ok?

you can sterilize it or pasturize it.
