Further on my efforts to arrange a meeting between local shroomerites and a professional mycologist.......

I have found out that Paul Kroeger will indeed be coming to Mt. Elphinstone here on the Sunshine Coast of BC next month. However, whether or not it will be for the Public Hike on April 7 remains to be seen. Apparently he is bringing with him a German bloke who is involved in some sort of mushroom co-op with Tibetan monks. I didn't make that up!

PK of course has pictures in Stamet's Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World and is also acknowledged in The Mushroom Cultivator. He is western Canada's top mycologist and to hike with him is an experience not soon forgot. His knowledge of mushrooms and nature is amazing.

Local shroomerites who have not already contacted me and would like to be on the notification list, can pm me, post here or email captainmaxmushroom@sporelab.com


Mycologist Paul Kroeger explains mycorhizzial growth in the Mt. Elphinstone forest to members of the Vancouver Mycological Society.

Again, I must mention that this is a '3 hour tour' and not really worth a flight from the Eastern Seabord.

We have the Public Hikes on the first Sunday of each month but I'm almost always available any time you show up for a personalized tour.

'Eco-tourism' is one of the angles we are using to save the mountain.

You live in the Vancouver area, right?
