I was recently censored from the thread asking captn max's whereabouts. I think I need to remind the moderators of the rules of this forum, from the sticky thread in this forum:

I was glad to hear that max is doing well and is still in business. I think it's great that he even has his own forums. As I said before, I never liked the way he was treated around here, so I'm pleased to hear he's doing fine. I understand the point of view of this being a "sponsors" forum, but I guess I just remember the glorry days when all vendors seemed more a part of a community rather than a revenue source (or impersonal/disconnected money machine as is the case with some).
I was personally pleased everytime I did business with max and feel that many people have lost out on a good resource ever since he was "swept under rug". His products are decently priced, quality spores, and produced and sold from a country with relaxed legalities.
For those that don't know, his website is www.sporelab.com.
If the moderators feel that any part of this post is unacceptable, please contact me via PM, or in this thread itself. I've been around far too long and contributed far too much to the community to simply have my posts disappear without getting pissed off about it.

That was very well put and I am glad this issue was resolved.
I have tremendous respect for Ripple and mycofile. Without members like those two the Shroomery would be nothing to me.

Thanks ripple.
I had a conversation with Thor, and he kinda reminded me of my selective memmory. Just to set the record straight, yes Max caught a lot of shit from people for not buying ad space here. I never liked that cuz I remember back when nobody paid for advertising.
On the other hand, Max also was not always the most jolly fellow to have around. He had a penchant for dramatic flame exchanges with other vendors, and didn't like to follow forum rules. In defense of the shroomery, regardless of what you think of them, rules are rules, and he repeatedly broke them and was given 2nd chances etc until he was finally bannned.
So basically, max is gone from the shroomery because he couldn't play well with others. He is still in business, offers a good product, and is a very unique individual.
Sorry for getting so uppity, I just hate to be/feel like I'm censored, and it was too easy to see it as anti-max conspiracy blocking my posts. I know silly, but then again I only spent about 1 second thinking before I posted.

Although I was a member of the shroomery at that time I really paid little attention to that stuff so I have little or no knowledge of what happened. As I understand it max was a bit cranky.

Bandwidth is expensive, noone wants to advertise someplace, that they can do so for free.
The shroomery has grown SO much since those glory days. I believe we currently exceed our bandwidth usage, and the revenue from the sponsors does not cover what is being spent. As a member it is important to realize how much the shroomery has done for everyone, and to realize how much people like 3DSHROOM have done, in taking up some of the financial burden. I'm sure he wont be able to do it forever, and in supporting those who do not support the shroomery but wish to reap profits from it, you support the downfall. Which will be a very sad day for a lot of us, who cherish this site, and what it needs to do to stay alive.
I'm not preaching, I understand where you're coming from as well. But Captain Max was an asshole, he attempted to cause fights with the supporting vendors of the site, he refused to pay for it himself, and cared nothing more for the shroomery than "potential customers". That's my opinion, and i'm stickin to it =))))
I do however think you're a kick ass guy, and an asset to this community Mycofile. You've done some amazing work, and helped me and many others i'm sure. I also respect your opinion. Just wanted to let you know where some of the capt max animosity comes from. In case you didn't pay attention to that drama. He was absolutely the center of the 'vendor wars' that almost killed any sponsorships, and caused this forum to be created.

max is still sponsoring mycotopia and getting along well with everyone. i think the problem between max and some individuals was pretty mutual and max took the heat while others faded back into the shadows.
not saying he is a jolly good fellow, much like myself he can be quite abrasive, he and i bumped heads for years before finally making peace, and now he's a sponsor, go figure.
maybe he deserves a second chance, i know i got banned here for fighting with others, who incidently didn't get banned, much like max.
yet i was let back in, and i've behaved reasonably well.

I would like to say that I feel the same way as most of you about this forum although I am new. I would like to know if there is even a forum or just the allowance of a sporebank rating thread in this forum at all? Lil' confuzing but what I am trying to say there should be (if there is not already), a Forum devoted to sporebank ratings. Similar to some cannabis forums. The reason I say this is that I recently tried Captain Max because he ships to Canada, BUT I recieved 3 syringes like I have never seen befor. Clear liquid with not a single clump of spores. He is suppose to be reputable but I am disappointed. I want to order again but from someone else and I forund that Ralphster now sends to canada. I contacted him and told him bout Max. He says I will be Ha{PPY.
I will definatly try Ralphster but really what I would like to see around here is a rating system. I could see the Shroomerys' position as being one that would not rate it's own money paying sponsors but how about a forum that includes non sponsor sporebanks? I think your sponsors would rate highly in a forum like this and would root out the fakes.
Just another thought.
But I am new so who cares.

Captain Max is a friend as well as hippie.
I really like them both alot.
I just started shipping within Canada.
Max has been doing it for years!!
Also, Max is a very well known mycologist.
Max knows his shit.
Hippie3, a friend, is a great resourse for probably anything you could ask.
These are 2 guys have been around long before things changed around here.
I totally respect them both...
