Alternate Inoculation Techniques

I have two items to discuss and would like some feedback on, im new to growing and would like to know as much as i can before i start. Thanks
1) After a jar is inoculated and is fully collenized and ready for casing or fruiting as is, could a small part of the cake be crumbled away (a small piece from the beginning of a casing) and put into an un-inoculated jar with substrate that has been sterilized. Would the jar then colonize? Is this a method that you guys have heard of?
2) Also, could you inoculate a jar that was a quart rather than just a pint using just as many spores (just 1 cc per jar)? Would complete colonization occur, and if it did would it take longer?
thanks!

1) If done under sterile conditions yes. Look up 'grain to grain transfer' to learn more.
2) The more substrate you have, the longer it will take to colonize. 1 cc would work. Maybe you should look up some liquid culture teks to learn how to make your spores go farther.

Because I think the title of this thread could go places...I'll share an inoculation technique...Its creative, so dont judge.
Ok, first I like to put on my favorite music cd "chickmonks Christmas carols," (Helps me focus). Then after checking each of my 25 High Res security camera's around my 1 bedroom apartment, I then proceed to "unlock' my ultra hightech secure entry closet (Picture Lab from Jerrasic Park) and slowy remove the LC syringe, this of coarse, after disabling the laser security system. Did I mention that the closet is located on the oppsite side of a corn feild filled with rabid mutated gophers that enjoy tripping people when their not looking. This usually ends up with me running for my dear life, with the syring in my hand (carefull children). This field also is abundantly flush with various culture spawns and is in part the cause of the gophers madness. Once safely back in my one bedroom apartment, I am capable of continueing on with the procedure. Long story short. I just do what everyone else does...
PF TO THE GRAVE BABY!
GOOD LUCK

LMAO, sounds like you're a bit obsessed w/ rodents.
The music part is an interesting idea, as it would make it the process a bit more soothing; it kind of reminds me of the operations on Nip/Tuck. I think that I'll incorporate that into my procedure, but I've got to decide upon what music...
I'm thinking either video game music or the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack.
BTW, now you got that damned Chipmunks song, the one that goes "Christmas time is here", stuck in my head ; I can hear that guy screaming at Alvin and then they begin singing.
That deserves 5 Shrooms for the laugh and the suggestion.
