How viable is liquid inoculation techniques with no magnetic stirrer, i mean, from what ive seen a magnetic stirrer is almost a must but maybe not since they constantly stir the stuff... hmmm any help on that? Would it only mean a coupla extra days with no magnetic stirrer for the liquid inoculum...? I mean you could put something magnetic inside and pull it around so you dont have to shake it and make the liquid touch the filter disc or something, right? hmmmmm? hmmm?

Why is everyone screaming in caps nowadays? No, it's not necessary whatsoever, it's simply a nice tool to speed things along.

Holydiver is 100% correct. 3 things speed up a reaction (in this case, the mycel forming) Heat, the addition of another substance, and agitation. you're find w/o a stirrer

I'd say most people DON'T USE MAGNETIC STIR BARS.
I'm one of them. Just toss in a marble or shards of broken glass and shake daily.

The magnetic stirrer is just a really cool addition to your equipment that will speed up the process dramatically but isn't required at all.
For example, here is an awesome stirrer-less technique for doing liquid culture. It suggests adding a marble to the mix. Much like a spray-paint can, the marble will help break up and stir the myc when you shake the container.
I should add that I am not speaking from experience here but only what I've read from experienced people.

I have just finished inoculation mine a few minutes ago.
Should I swirl them immediately following inoculation, or wait for growth?

You don't HAVE to shake it after inoculation. It will grow.
Wait until you see strands of growth in your jar, then shake it gently everyday.
