Hi, I tried a program that lets you type using your Microphone plugged into your PC. What it was 6 years ago was I said a bunch of words and sounds, and they processed them so that when I type it would type with different voices for different people. It actually worked quite good, but hey, that was 6 years ago and I didn't have dsl, computers were slow....so it went very slow.
What are some good programs which allow you to type with a Microphone? Because I'll ask my friend when he gets out of work, he uses one and types really fast. Only thing different is that he adds - in alot of words. Like for instance say if he was to say fuck you it would be like fuck-you. maybe he just set it up like that.....
anyways post URL's and I'll give them a shot and tell you all of they're any good. These would be good to jot down ideas which typing is too slow for, songs which are hard to write....write papers in faster speeds...etc
Peace.

Hey it's the anti-LearyFan!
Dragon NaturallySpeaking is generally regarded as the best continuous speech recognition product. IBM ViaVoice is another good choice. These days there's not much difference between the programs. But in my experience they're still just novelties. To get any real work done you'll need your good old keyboard.

In my personal experience these programs are horrible. A buddy of mine used to have one. It seemed to get every other word incorrect. We used to get hammered, start the program and tell a story. It was humorous to see how badly the story was distorted.

From what I know, these programs work but they need to learn the subtle little quarks in your voice.
For example, you may start the program and it may mistype many words. But after 4-5 weeks, the prog will "learn" your voice pattern.
I used IBM via voice once for about 2 weeks. You can definitely see a difference if you use it daily.
