Thread starter should be able to edit pictures out

Some people like PGF and Captain Jack enjoy posting graphic and homosexual butthole pictures in other people's threads. This is offensive and uncalled for. The person that starts a thread should have the option to disallow pictures in their threads or turn off pictures after such offensiv material has been posted for the purpose of disrupting the thread.

i second this suggestion. and since we're talking about changes to this place (and since we're getting a new server):

i would also like to see us change our bb script to whatever overgrow.com has. i really like its automatic picture previewing in the thread so you click to enlarge. It might save some people's time on dialup who happen to load the thread that contains a 800x600 pixel pic of the guy showing you his freak hemroids.
i would also like the karma system in place where we can give and recieve karma for whatever reason (pictures or providing helpful information to someone else). This would make a difference between posting 4000 messages and posting 4000 messages that helped others in the community. People would get off on gaining little green bars as they hang around here. Might make the difference between joe answering that newbies question, and him saying fuck it, not worth my time.

Thanks for the support of the picture edit option, but I am opposed to the idea of 'karma' or 'karma script'. If it were called 'feedback' or somthing along those lines I would like it, but I am opposed to it because I do not like the idea of karma or dharma and the philosophies they infer...

it's not any kind of philosophy dude, it's just a word in this case.
i'd post hello.jpg but i'm not on my computer, i don't have the link handy and i don't want to go to the trouble to download / upload again.

while i understand extactly how you feel, i don't think we should have that option. people are allowed to say what they want, and if a picture is worth a thousand words... uhmm, can i take that anywhere or did i box myself in?

I do hate that hello.jpg picture though, but it's all in fun... well, in a demented sort of way i suppose.

Do what I do, use Opera. Don't listen to 3D saying things like "Opera r gook". With Opera, you have very easy switching from no pictures shown/ only cached pictures shown/ load all pictures. I use the net without pictures for 80% of the time, the 20% are porn. It makes it so much faster. In IE you have to go through a few menus to do that, in Opera there is a button on a toolbar to do that, it's very very excellent.
Download somewhere around here
It costs around $25 though, but cracks are easily found

I think we should have the option for our threads to include pornographic pictures in each reply no matter if the poster wanted it there or not.

i concur. the decision should be left up to the individual reader, not some despotic overlord poster. once a thread is started, it begins to evolve on its own.

im really scared of some of you guys. i figured that since we were all druggies (or former druggies or wannabe druggies) here, we would all be relaxed and liberal and tolerant. but some of you, with your censorship and dreams of "enforced unity" wanna turn this forum (and in turn, the world) into some sort of california uber alles dystopia scenario.

how about if someone starts plastering kitty porn all over this place? i bet most people would think that would be wrong and pitch a fit over it (and i know the moderators would get involved) . OOOOOH but what about THAT person's fun or freedom or however you idiots are justifying it. This isn't censorship, its the ability for a thread starter to say fuck you, i don't want your trash in my thread, start your own thread if you want to do that.

kiddy porn is different. if i look at a thread that has kiddy porn on it, even for one second, and even if i dont like it, and even if im jerry falwell, it gets saved in my cache and the fbi can put me in prison for it (or at least my home will get firebombed by misguided child abuse activists.) there is a difference between offending someone and turning them into a criminal against their will. people have already posted nekkid pictures of underage girls, but apparently no one noticed.

by the way, im not advocating that kiddy porn pics get censored on this forum, im just saying that either the poster has to stop himself from posting the pics out of consideration to others, or the veiwer has to clear his cache and quit whining. its all about personal responsibility vs mommy protecting you from the bad stuff.

how would the logistics of such an editing system work, whatever is decided about free speech or thread starters rights... what it comes down to is board technology.

my opinion: start a thread at the risk that it may be contaminated with shit.
