Wheat Straw Juice Questions?

I have read the posted link on the lil guys tek portion of the website and have a question concerning the sterilization of the wheat straw juice. After the pasturization of the wheat straw the juice is drained and saved for use in the next spawn instead of water...I get all that but,

1. Does it have to be sterilized in a PC, or is it already good enough with pasturization process?
2. How long can the wheat straw juice keep?
3. Can this juice be used as a liquid growing medium?
4. What about contams?

I wonder about these same questions. Testing is underway
on some jars of Gulf Coast and Cambodian. They are PF tek
half pints (BRF) and in half the jars the water has been replaced
with wheat straw juice. Results will be posted in a couple of
weeks. :peace:

Did you sterilize the juice before using it instead of water?

No, I pasturized it with the straw, then  I PC'd the jars
for 30 minutes. I usually only PC for 20 minutes.:peace:

pleas post with the results, i think i am going to try the same tek w/o PC the jars i think the pasturization is enough to kill potential contams.

I'm afraid you may be headed for disaster dude. If you try that
you'll want to presteralize your substrate in the oven (20 min/300 deg)
before you mix it. One of my concerns is that over cooking
may break down the sugars rendering it useless to our little
friends. We definately need to compare notes in two weeks!

i changed my mind i am going to PC the jars before i inoculate...but i still want to compare results.
