Wheat Straw Juice with PF tek?

Today I pastureized some WS. Tomorrow I will be mixing up some PF jars. I've got 3 quarts of Wheat straw juice out of it, and was wondering if It is possible, or recomended to use the WS Juice instead of bottle or tap water. Is WS juice going to have any improvement on my Pf jars? If so, how much?

It deffinatelly will add more nutrients to your substrate. So firstly you`ll find your colonisation times will improve as well as making your myceliul network stronger. All eventually adding to the size and possibly poitency of your shrooms.

actually, colonization will more likely take longer. Mycelium travils slowly through areas of high nutrition consintration. Areas of low nutrition cause more ryzomorphic growth. If there is no air exchange in your jar, it will also make them more likely to stall. There shouldn't be an overwelming ammount of nutrient in 1/2 cup of straw juice, so it likely won't make a big difference either way.

Are you basing your reply on personal experience Shaw??? Because I`m basing my reply on personal experience. When I grow out isolates on millet with poo/straw juice there deffinatelly is an increase in colonisation as well as a very healthy rhizomiphoric network. I don`t see why it would take longer to colonise in areas of higher nutrients. The entire jar will consist of more nutrients. The more nutrients the stronger the mycelial network. Therefore stronger growth and a far better network.

yes. Back when i was using pf jars, the ones with more flour and nutrient juice added would slow down quicker and sometimes stall. Mainly from starving the limited ammount of oxygen in the jar i would assume. Thats why i said to have air exchange. i use filtered jars now, but it still seems to me that the less nutrified areas produce more and faster rhyzo's. I have also read that ryzomorphic mycelia strands are designed to streatch over less nutrified areas. This is just my experiences though. There are too many other variables to know for sure.

Good answer As far as I`ve seen though with grain jars, the little bit of additional nutrients provided certainly seems to make the difference. But as you say, there are too many variables that could actually contribute to the spead of a colonising jar.
