I was taught otherwise in History of Rock and Roll... and my professor took his job seriously, he liked to have his facts straight.

my history of rock teacher said that his death is not fully proven but the general assumption is that it was is sleeping pills

Konnrade, what about people who take thumbprints?

I suppose it is possible to kill yourself from LSD, but honestly, I don't know if anyone who valued their experience here on this Earth would take enough LSD, knowingly, to kill themselves.

It's not that the LSD is going to kill you if you take too much, it's that if you've got a bad heart, it can be the last straw, so to speak.

People with heart conditions should be cautious about taking psychedellics. They can indeed raise your heart rate if you get excited.

Going out for a strenuous jog is proably just as likely to kill you, if you have such a condition, but a high dose of LSD certainly can't be helpful to someone with a defective heart.

Still though, that information applies to a very small number of people. It shouldn't be twisted and reworded in an attempt to scare people.

Abovetheinfluence is a miserable organization, and they're bailing water right into their own boat. I actually sent them a comment about that. I told them how they are using bad science, how they are stating coincidence as being causality, how they are repeating myths and rumors as being facts. I also told them that they, through their deceit and ignorance, are undermining the credibility of more truthful anti-drug organations.

I ended my comment with a sentence that went something like "shape up or go away, you're doing more harm than good."

So, who is paying to produce and air these 'commercials'...are they public service announcements? If taxpayer dollars are being fed into these shithole messages that's not fucking cool.

Nobody said anything about panic. Panic isn't the only thing that raises your heart rate. Any form of excitement will do that, panic, exhiliration, etc...

Somebody told me that you could get high off of smoking shrooms or blotter lsd in a blunt, and I told him he was full of shit, he told me otherwise. I think someone was messing with his head, of course it was a 18 year old.

You don't seem to understand... he had a bad heart. Having sex could have put his ticker out of commision. It didn't... but it could have.

I only know what I was taught. I could have been taught wrong.

I was told that his death certificate clearly stated cause of death to be natural causes, though. I was then told he had a bad heart, which was put over the edge by his excited state.
