All their brilliantly dramatized commercials have persuaded me to visit their website, seeking help!
Came across some absolutely groundbreaking discoveries, such as, quoted:
"some weed is laced with acid, PCP, or even includes chemicals like formaldehyde"
That said, I was wondering where I could score some of this wonder-weed laced with LSD?
It would be great to smoke some acid, mmmmm...
It only seems logical people would dip buds in LSD, considering the ubiquitous nature of LSD these days.
I have just now discovered more startling information, hallucinogenic drugs can directly cause death!!!!!!!
Quoted:
"Using hallucinogens increases your heart rate and blood pressure. This rapid increase can lead to heart and lung failure, possibly causing coma or even death."
What's funny about their "facts" page on hallucinogens is that by calling them 'hallucinogens' and addressing them as a category, they don't have to seperate drugs like LSD from PCP so they can say 'hallucinogens' cause this (X adverse reaction), and people will consider drugs like LSD/Psilocybin to be extremely dangerous. They'll think the effects of PCP are what could happen on tryptamines/mescaline, etc... brilliant maneuver.

Just found another site detailing how to deal with somebody having a bad trip:
"Q. How can I help someone through a bad trip? A. Don't try to handle this situation on your own--call 911 and a trusted adult immediately. While waiting, address the person by name, remind them who and where they are, talk to them calmly, make sure they're safe, and don't leave them alone."
No friend of mine would do such a thing to me...
If he/she did, I'd haffa kill 'em in my LSD-induced uncontrollable rage!!!

In my science building there's a sign on a door that says "No Smoking Acid"
I guess there's sulphuric acid or something in there and they mean "No Smoking: Acid," but you can't smoke in that building anyway, so whatever...
Anyway, that shit cracks me up.

Sadly, they are not a despository for information.
Their processes are limited to spewing forth bullshit and therefor have no use for your "information!"
Best we can do, boys, is have fun telling the drunken teenagers that everything they "know" about LSD is distorted, and proceed to using esoteric (to this age group) scientific jargon coupled with a semi/fully lengthy explanation of neurochemical processes until one feels he has effectively demonstrated that the LSD he is currently on has not dampened his ability to outsmart a drunk.
You haffa get real scientific, "No silly fool, there's no frying in addition to the LSD molecules binding at selective 5HT receptor sites and consequent uptake into the serotogenic synapse." - "Furthermore, no experiments of empirical nature have demonstrated any material damage to the central nervous system, nor has any severe neurological--in the sense of physically damaged neurons-- damage in direct correlation to use of LSD been proven."
And if they're little fucks...
"Hey, you stupid fuck, Alexander Shulgin is over 70 years old, has taken over 4,000 proclaimed psychedelic trips and still has the mental aptitude to synthesize compounds you could never hope to pronounce. Surely this indicates some 'brain-frying,' eh? That dude shits more brain cells than are collectively present in this entire room, with all these damned people."

The worst thing about this ad campaign is that educators who are honestly concerned about teen use of drugs that actually are dangerous lose all their credibility.
Mostly, they just flat-out lie. And when they're not lying they're claiming causation where all they have is a correlation. This really upsets me, because they're encouraging children to think non-critically and not being able to think critically is very sad and dangerous.

That's a very good point. There are some good reasons for not taking drugs, and some practises that will greatly increase the enjoyment and safety of taking drugs, and children miss out on them entirely because educaters are terrified of being seen to promote drug use.

Wrong. He died from booze and sleeping pills.

It's not that the LSD is going to kill you if you take too much, it's that if you've got a bad heart, it can be the last straw, so to speak.
People with heart conditions should be cautious about taking psychedellics. They can indeed raise your heart rate if you get excited.
Going out for a strenuous jog is proably just as likely to kill you, if you have such a condition, but a high dose of LSD certainly can't be helpful to someone with a defective heart.
Still though, that information applies to a very small number of people. It shouldn't be twisted and reworded in an attempt to scare people.
Abovetheinfluence is a miserable organization, and they're bailing water right into their own boat. I actually sent them a comment about that. I told them how they are using bad science, how they are stating coincidence as being causality, how they are repeating myths and rumors as being facts. I also told them that they, through their deceit and ignorance, are undermining the credibility of more truthful anti-drug organations.
I ended my comment with a sentence that went something like "shape up or go away, you're doing more harm than good."

There's no way that Hendrix, a very experienced tripper, panicked himself into a heart attack at 27 years old.

I was told that his death certificate clearly stated cause of death to be natural causes, though. I was then told he had a bad heart, which was put over the edge by his excited state.

"In the early morning hours of September 18, 1970, Jimi Hendrix was found dead in the basement flat of the Samarkand Hotel at 22 Lansdowne Crescent in London. Hendrix died amid circumstances which have never been satisfactorily explained, and the exact details of his death will probably never be confirmed. He had spent the night with his German girlfriend, Monika Dannemann, and likely died in bed after drinking wine and taking nine Vesperax sleeping pills, then drowning in his own vomit."
