new cultivator questions on medium

I am a new grower and before i spend my money on a spore print i have a question for you people to answer for me. I got a recipe for growing mushrooms off the net and i am wondering is brown rice is a good medium for cultivating and if it isnt then what is the best i can get from a mart that starts with "W" or "K".... let me know as soon as possible.

Yes, go with brown rice flour and vermiculite....great substrate methinks!
I don't know about you guys, but I had a tough time with slang and abbreviations
Do you realize how many abbreviations are used on this forum? Takes a wile to learn them all. Especially that FOAF crap...I figured that one out not long ago.
