British Columbia?

I am going to be going on a six day hike in British Columbia, Canada soon and I want to look for some mushrooms. I have heard conflicting things about whether Psilocybe semilanceata will be in season in mid-May. Could anyone offer any insight? Also, are there any look alikes I should be aware of? Thanks.

i've never hunted Psilocybe semilanceata before, but i think they are fall/winter mushrooms. Fruiting before the first frosts of the year..

Don't count on it. Main season for the PNW is fall-early winter.

O.K. so then from what I have seen does that mean that there are no active mushrooms that I can hope to find?

Psilocybe semilanceata are commonly only grow in fall. I mean it's possible if it's not too warm but I wouldn't count on it. If you happen to get up one morning and there is lots of frost on the ground you may find some liberty caps in a cowfield if you can find one.
