Wooohooo spring is finally here and the rivers are rising!
Its about time to get back in the boat and go paddling.
Anyone else partake?

Yep, that wave is called 'Fang'. Its pretty gnarly when the rivers at about 8ft.

Kayaking is actually the least expensive hobby I have (for the ammount of times I go) because once you buy the essential gear:
kayak
paddle
life jacket
skirt
helmet

its free! You dont have to pay to use the river! Also, they just built a surfing wave right downtown near the park, so im gonna be in my boat everyday this summer.

Thats what i keep telling myself, its the enitial buy in, after that its relative to what you break.

I can get a used Dagger for 250$
paddle 200
life jacket 80
skirt 130
helmet 70

all in all cheap for a lot of fun.

Im also wanting to buy a new mountain bike though, and more climbing gear.

Ive never found a Dagger boat that I liked. However, I saw a pyrhana S7 in town for $250. Thats a great deal (wish I had some extra bones laying around... but I have to save up for bonnaroo).

dude, every time i walk down higgins i stop and watch the kayakers on that wave...you should teach me! i've never tried.

I could do that. It took me a few days to learn how to roll, and a few summers to perfect it in moving water, so expect to swim a few times. But after that, paddling is AWESOME... it takes balance above all else. Ive seen 90lb chicks and 60 year old men that could paddle way better than me. I can surf allright, and go down some big water, but im still struggling to learn tricks.
