Anything you can do with male plants?

My grow is just getting underway, and before my plants start showing off their sex, I was wondering if there is anything I can do with the males, or if I should just scrap them once they pop up.

Kill them, they are a huge waist of space and they are going to fertilize your fems.

Yeah, you can certainly eat them. Yesterday I cut down a male plant I had, ground it up and cooked the freshly ground plant matter in enough oil for a large brownie. Once the oil had cooled I strained it and made my batter. That was a damn good brownie.

Cannabutter from any plant material is certainly effective if you have enough plant material. I just killed three of my male plants. Along with all the stems I have saved from bud, I am going to chop it all up and make a nice batch of oil, or butter for cooking with.

in my grow guide it says male flowers have been known to contain up to 4.2% thc in some strains. but this guide is the deluxe marijuana growers guide from the 70's, although its revised. the table could still be outdated from what i read. but put a plastic bag over it and taken a q tip and take the pollens it releases and get a swab then colonize one specific plant.

Actually, in the vegatative state males produce more THC than females. It's not til flowering starts that the females produce larger amounts.

Sure, but that doesn't make the butter any better. Don't they both produce relatively low amounts of THC before flowering? All that means is that where the female gets better, the male stays the same. It doesn't get weaker. Sorry if that didn't make much sense, but I don't know how best to phrase it.

Yeah but It would be just as good as other leaves clipped and saved from females in veg. state. A friend made a batch with 80g of leaf and it turned out pretty decent.

80 dried grams of leaves and stems is not much at all either. expecially when they're the main stems and whatnot.

Well, my only concern is that if I dont plant the males far enough from the females, ill end up with a load of shitty mids, considering all I have to gain is a batch or two of cannibutter. I only have 5 plants (unsexed so far) by the way, so this isnt a huge grow. So how far away would I have to move the males, or is there something I can to to restrict the pollen?
