Hello! I don't post here too often, but since the weather in Georgia isn't cooperating with my psychedelic endevors, I've decided to create my own! I've never attempted growing them before, but the methods, though somewhat confusing at first, seem to be relatively simple. All I need is a little help and direction from you guys! I've been looking into the MANY methods listed on this site and other places on the web. I've come to understand the termanology (for the most part), and I'm looking for a moderately simple procedure that produces MUCHO fruit! On Spore Work's research page, (http://209.164.74.217/bulktek.html) they have directions for a "bulk" method using cubenis in straw substrate and Worm castings... ...WORM SHIT?!... I was suprised:)... Check out the site! ...anyway, I was wondering if this was a desirable way to grow? Any drawbacks? Advantages? What I don't understand however, is how to make and successfully colonize grain spawn. Can someone explain this to me in simple terms, or refer me to a site where I could read up on it? If you know of a more efficient (and economic) way to grow our fungi-friends, plese let me know, as I'de be truly interested! Thanks! PEACE. Somewhereblue.

Yeah man, I saw the pictures, and my first thought was "Holy Shit... that's a lot of mushrooms!," but like I said, I've never grown them or seen any being grown, so I'm not sure of the usual amount harvested. About 2 oz? How much would you think the bulk method would yield? Somewhereblue.

It all depends on the strain, humidity, temperature, alot of other thing u need to read about. If i lived in Georgia i would pick some cubies then print them, then go to agar with the spores, isolate a strong culture, then inoculate rye, then inoculte compost/ or straw/worm castings. This is your best bet. But if you just want to do it the easy way try the PF tek first.......www.fanaticus.com (PF TEK) great tek for newbies.
