Another state added to the bans...
DE bans hallucinogenic drug - salvia divinorum April 14, 2006 - wgmd.com
Brett?s Law has passed in both chambers of the Delaware General Assembly. The bill bans the hallucinogenic drug salvia divinorum ? which family members say led to the suicide of Brett Chidester of Pike Creek.
The drug has the same potency as LSD and this legislation makes it a Schedule 1 narcotic. Two other states have also banned salvia and the US DEA considers it a ?drug of concern.?

Wouldn't the same potency as LSD mean that it would have to be active at the microgram level? Seems like a way to twist words and make it sound like the same thing as LSD when really they are both just tryptamines

It is active at microgram level, and salvia is not a tryptamine.

Well is salvia really comparable to LSD except for that they both cause halucinations? I mean, 12 hour LSD trip as opposed to 5-15 minute salvia trip.

No, I don't think they are in any way comparable, I can't see why the media keep making this comparison.

DE bans hallucinogenic drug - salvia divinorum
I don't see how salvia is hallucinogenic, but I've only tried it twice.

I wonder what the severity of the charge would be if one were to get caught with it. Would a cop even be able to KNOW, much less prove what it is? I mean I doubt they have a field test for it.

It's OK.. The ban on it isn't really enough to make me upset. It's just annoying. I could still easily get more if I wanted to. I'm kind of curious to see how long it will take for someone to get caught or charged with possession.
