bro..

hispanic = latino = what some would call "spanish". Incas were an ancient civilization that lived in peru, and parts of ecuador and bolivia.

Mayans lived in mexico and guatemala.

I dont have a drop of either and I am hispanic. Hispanic just means spanish speaking peoples, who are from central america, mexico, and south america. Spanish people live in spain, so to call me "spanish" wouldnt make much sense.

that brings up another thing i dont understand. why does hispanic = latino? hispancs come from spain, and latins are from southern italy.

edit- also arnt spanish people white? at least the ones that conquered most of the americas were, so if hispanic is just spanish decendents, then wouldnt they be white?

not trying to argue, i just dont get it

non of that makes sense. lol... spanish are tanish.. hispanics are just people who are native to a spanish speaking country, and hispanics/ latino are the same thing

Spanish people are european. They are pretty light skinned for the most part. My mother is quite light skinned, but my father is much darker. Its a geographical thing really, anybody will be darker if they live somewhere where the sun shines brighter, if your genes allow it. Ofcourse you wont see a super white irish person get darker, they jsut get redder and burn, but it must be something about the Arabic gene that allows people like me to tan very easily, and ultimately end up brown with enuff sun. Go to colombia and the hispanics there have very dark crispy brown skin, but if you come to toronto where I live, the latinos here are pretty white during the winter, but in the summer we get much darker.

People from spain actualy speak spanish in a very funny way. They have this *lisp* thats forced... gives me the shivers.

As white as one can get. My skin doesn't tan, it just goes red and burns. I don't get that much sun anyway (location).
