Possible contam *PIC*

Hey All,

This cake was going great but for some reason it produced this beigeish white stuff. Is this "Mycelium waste" or a contam? The beige was there first but now the nice white mycelium seems to be taking it over.

Seems to me that it is a contamn (or burnt cake ?). Yet I've never seen this type. It's definitly not mycelium waste. What surprises me is the way the mycelium takes over. Healthy mycelium by the way - except the contamn.
I would isolate this cake and see what happens (if you can do so). But I won't eat fruits from it !
Strange contamn...maybe someone knows what it is...

thats strange. It could be that the bottom was water logged...very water logged preventing colonization in that area. Did you have a particularly wet substrate for that jar?

Nope. The substrate wasn't especially moist. And it's not waterlogged because that jar had been turned upside down before that appeared. No matter now - rather than take any chances I just junked that jar.
