jar starting to smell

Hey everyone, I sterilized and inoculated my jars 5 or 6 days ago. I already had to throw 9 jars of wbs away because they started to stink. Now about 7 jars are starting to colonize nicely. One of them, however, is colonizing but I can smell a very sharp odor from the air hole. Should I toss it or wait and see if the spores win the fight? If you guys don't know by now I am a newb. I grew once before about 5 or 6 years ago off of brf cakes with success. Now I am trying with wbs. I figure why not...I have alot of spare time on my hands... I want to thank everyone so far for all the help given to me. You guys will be the first to see my success.

Hmm if it is smelling I would toss it.

Keep the jars around and watch what they do. If they colonize then grow'em out, but if they die then you can study the contamination, and try to figure out the point of infection. But mostly it sounds like you need to take sterility up a couple of clicks.

Yeah I did kick it up. I bought a bigger and better pressure cooker and I think I finally got the water content for the seeds correct. (I am making new jars everyother day because the first time I tried this 5 years ago I got nothing but contams) All of the smelly jars had way too much water inside them. There are two jars left from the original batch. All the seeds exploded and clumped together into one giant stick ball. I tried breaking it on a book but all that does is compact it more. These jars still smell fine and look allright (no visible contams). Though its been about 6 days and there is no sign of mycelium...

I'm talking about an odor that's much too different than the other jars that are colonized. It's a very pungeant, sour smell...can't describe it.
