question about compost.

after reading awhile on here i decided to sign up my question about compost... i understand using straw/poo is a great substrate for mushroom growing but I'm curious about the compost that commercial mushroom growers use in their operations... would the stuff they use grow any better than mixing up poo and straw in the kitchen? or would it just be alot easier to buy it from them premade (they say its a "complete" compost)? me being the lazy kind of guy i am and all...and not wanting to cook poo in my kitchen considering i spill stuff alot when cooking. I'm guessing that they (the commercial edibles grower) uses basically the same stuff that anyone here may cook up in the kitchen...but produced on a reaaaaaly large scale... anyone ever used commercial mushroom compost? what were the difference in yields (if any)? any and all input welcome and appreciated thanks, hIgHdRoLoVeR

Tennessee Stud Mushroom Substrates
Simply buy horse poo pre-pasteurized, then you won't have to worry about cooking it yourself.
 Peace.

if you dont feel like making up your poo yourself and all that i would also recomend tennesee stud, that would be the easiest way to go. and if your looking for hpoo look in the phone book for any bording stables or horse farms. any one that i drive past around my place has free poo signs out. just tell them your making up some compost to put in your garden this yr or somethign like that.. but they probly wont even ask.. and dont buy poo from a store!! its no good, some ppl have sucess w/ it but the majority dont.. im one of the ones that didnt.
about the mushroom compost.. make sure you dont buy it from garden stores or places like that. what that is is already used compost from the mushroom farms that have already had mushrooms grown in them, and all the nutes used up.
if you would feel like making up your own compost heres a link to agars easy composting tec.. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...rue#Post5341136 i think its deffenetly worth a try..
well i hope some of this helps ya out some..
