Big Martha setup....experience needed...enought FAE?? *pics

Hey everyone out there! I'm not to sure if my Martha is giving my casings enough fresh air. There are 5 levels on the Martha w/ out takes to each level. I taped up the bottom 2 level. cuz there isn't anything on there so most of the cool mist can shoot the first 3 levels. I had to put perlite in there to help the humidity. I cased these Friday. I have WBS cased with h/poo. About each casing has about 1 quart of WBS.

In the pictures the walls are going to look really moist due to me just misting the walls. My humidity has been 80-100%. My temps were 80F I just dropped them today to about 72-75F.

Does humidity rise or lower?
How do my casings look? One's that are cased with cased with verm (only choice I had)

Am I getting enough FAE? (fresh air exchange)Look forward to your reply! Thanks for you help! Any advised welcomed!!

1 Cool Mist running 24/7 is more than enough FAE. A good sign of plenty of air is if your Martha (greenhouse) looks kinda fluffy from all the air in it. Mine constantly look like rectangular balloons! :smile:

For a martha that big you need 2 cool mists running, damnit hippiechick deleted her post about this, this is the wonderfull service she gave to the shroomery but deleted it because one spoinsor was selling a hygrometer that was overly priced......

I disagree. There is a few people here who have the 60 inch wide Martha and only use one cool mist.

While it may be better, it is not necessary.

Ok then my martha wont hold over 80% rh with one coolmist going, with 2 it is perfect...

See what I mean everyone, if you only knew who I originally am on this web site you wouldnt be questioning me, that was all ruined by one post I made in a non- growing forum....

Um....I think you misunderstood the subject of debate. It was as to weather 1 coolmist would maintain proper "FAE." Read my post again.. :wink:

You can make up for the low humidity by simply misting 2-3 times a day.

More commonly 1 coolmist and an ultrasonic hummer is used in conjunction with one another.

Ok I did missunderstand here, one will provide plenty of FAE, but IMO not enough RH, the whole point of my martha is I only open it when im putting casings in and picking shrooms, I dont want to open it 2-3 times a day..... :crazy: :crazy:

wow thanks for your replys, yea just running 1 coolmist doesn't provide enough RH. But I got some perlite in there to help make up that humidity, I just want to make sure I'm getting enough FAE. When I put my hand near the outtake, I feel a little breeze comming from it.

Does humidity rise or lower to the bottom?

BTW. Either that is a bad case of overlay or it's a tray of perlite that somehow melted into a pasty substance.....

I believe humidity rises, but you have attachments to all 4 levels so you will be fine. Also keep in mind that since the greenhouse is full of air (as you can feel when you put your hand over the small opening) it is constantly circulating within the entire greenhouse, continuous wind...

Check out my gallery for setup help.

I run my coolmist 24/7. The coolmist purpose is to provide air exchange. Not for humidity.

Then I run a ultrasonic for 20 minutes, every 2 hours. This is for humidity, not for air exchange.

You can get away with running just an ultrasonic. But you cant get away with running just a cool mist. It does not provide enough humidity.

Tape up those other holes, except the top one where the coolmist tube is connected. Then put a hole at the bottom to push the co2 out, and introduce constant fresh air. I put two holes on the bottom floor and then I put pans underneath to catch the water.
