kinda weird
    #5402361 -

So last night my friend and I were talking on the phone, when both our phones just turned off at the same time, and since it was such a strange coincidence, I was wondering if anyone else encountered a similar happening.

Not I. How long were they down?

a friend of mine (from sierra leone) was calling his brother (who lived in the US at the time) from Norway. midway through the phone conversation, they both got cut out, and an operator came on both ends and started asking them questions ("what language are you talking in? who are you talking to? how do you know each other?") i guess they had people tapping in the conversation, and they couldn't understand whatever language they were speaking in, so realized their surveilance was for naught. freaky shit...

Well the weird part was not that our phone conversation got cut out, it was the fact that both of our phones turned completly off at the exact same time with no warning. our phones turned right back on, and it wasnt as if our phones died because our batteries went dead at the same time, they just turned off with no sounds to indicate so.

Krishna- goodness that is ridiculous, that really bothers me that people feel they have the right to monitor a conversation based on the fact its a call from another country...well, at least im assuming that was the case.

All I can think is a power outage. Maybe give the phone company a ring?

well we were both on cell phones, so i dont think that would apply

There was a power outage later last night that lead to some other weird coincidence, but it was a completly different time

Same service provider? Could have been trouble with the satellite or a tower.

That's pretty weird. Cellphones are going haywire where I am.. my phone won't dial out, and when I phone it from the land line (it's in my hand, turned on) it goes straight to the message service, like it's turned off. Other people that I work with are having similar problems, it's really weird. We're all with different companies, too.

Could have been some sort of electrical interference, but that does seem like too much of a coincidence, I'd give the phone company a call. If they don't know anything at all, then I'd consider the possibility that something may be up.
