Smell bad !!!!!!!

Well i dired about 60 grams Of shrooms First on the fan for about 24 hrs then With some epsom salts i smelt them today and man They make me wanna get sick They smell Mifff They not toatally dry Is this normnally i neva smelt Them before and This Method has always worked for me ? any sugestions thanxz :smile:

is this safe to eat

I have smelled some especially pungent mushies. I notice they are a bit more aromatic when using non-processed manure. Unless they have gigantic liquidy green blobs from contamination on them, I wouldn't toss them if I were you. Their smell should diminish a bit as they get drier.

Cut open the stem and verify that you don't have any rot. My friend would toss them if the center of the stems are black and slimey... The first batch my friend tried to dry ended up this way. She ate them anyway, tripped, and was fine after... though she claimed they were very difficult to keep down and caused a lot more stomache distress than normal. She also claims she wouldn't bother eating them again... but that it was her first batch, and... well, you know how that goes. My friend said these were grown of BRF, but took several days to dry (because of improper technique) and that the oder was so strong that it would knock you to the ground towards the end of the dry cycle. Once completely dry they were pretty much "stinkless". My friend found out, through trial and error, to leave the shrooms on the fan until they are 100% dry... the stems should make a snap when you break them open. Once they are 100% dry, then and only then move them to storage with a dessicant. Also, most dessicants require a bit of heat (room temperature) to work. If you stick a bunch of half dried shrooms in the fridge with a bunch of dessicant, in a week you are going to have a bunch of rotting shrooms. Another lesson learned the hard way.
