I know this is a dumbass question, but my bud just spray painted a few clear containers that my casing will go in, and the containers will be going in a large rubbermaid tote thing, his question is will the smell of the paint affect the growth at all? the smell is strong, but hopefully wont be by the birthday. will he need to fan more?

I can't imagine that being good. Rubbermaids are cheap as fuck, so are metal baking pans, why waste colonized substrate when something goes wrong? Just go buy some more containers. Or improvise with some things around that house. -Mr.Sleep

As long as you sprayed the outside, and got none where the casing is gonna toutch, youl be fine. Leaving them outside on a hot day, then washing them will make the smell go away

re: Rubbermaids are cheap as fuck
I don't think so really, I mean, it shouldn't cost that much for molded plastic

Haha this is true, but I think they are pretty cheap when it comes to residing to either fucking up your casing or just buying a new container. -Mr.Sleep

My friend had used spray painted rubbermade shoeboxes without a problem.

everyone has said 'you'll be fine' which is dandy and probably true. do try to get rid of the smell before fruiting, though, as if there is a smell then there are probably solvents in the air, and those can cause shroom deformities.
deformities can be cool too, though
