Fruiting at lower temps

OK, I was an idiot and cased at different times. Now I only have 1 aquarium heater for my incubator, which is keeping 3 casings and 5 jars nice and warm. I have 2 casings which I am giving light to, and are in my terrarium. However: My room is at a frigid 58 degrees at night and a brisk 63 in the day time. This was perfect to semi-cold shock them into pinning. Is it ok to leave them growing at this temp or will they not grow? I guess I could buy another heater...doh.

Yeah that temperature range in a bitch, those things only have a 10 degree range and if ur off, it seems to make a big difference. Fruiting may be a bit more okay with the lower temperature with my experiences. but the incubator is a must for with low temps in room for the jars.

They will grow, but pretty slowly. Most strains will fruit at those low temps and many will actually enjoy them. I've noticed increased potency from cold grown shrooms before, but on second thought realized there are too many variables at hand to make that statement for sure. BTW, at those low temps, most contams won't grow! I've seen hopelessly bacteria infected grain jars recover and overgrow the bacteria at 60 deg F.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

Wow, thats pretty cool actually. (ha - ha) Well I bought a heater just because one casing has been sitting in there for 2 days and no pinning yet. However, i guess it has been cold in there! The mycelium knots are forming, which is good. I just got a fish tank pump as well, one for a 65 gallon tank...lol. Its friggin huge and the bubbles are quite loud haha... Should be some good air exchange.
