Going to NYC

GF and I are going to NYC later this month... taking the Amtrak into town, doing the hostel thing. Besides CBGBs, the village, soho galleries, and the natural history museum, i'd like some recommendations, especially stuff off the tourist circuit.

OnemoreRobot lives in NYC. He knows the city like the back of his hand. Unfortunately, he is taking a break from the Shroomery like a little bitch because he got all pissy about something. I think he still lurks and he should be back to posting in a couple of weeks.

I think his nerves are frayed over his employment situation.  Add that to the "drama" and it's too much for a guy that watches movies to cry(no offense intended robot).

Your nick reminds me of Zoolander.. which I recently saw for the first time.  Which brings me to my next point -- Vince Vaughn didn't say a word in that movie.. and I love that guy :sad:

the cloisters i heard is pretty cool, but i haven't been there, yet.

i can give you some cool bars and what not to check out... i don't know what kind of music you like, but i can probably recommend you to some places to look for just about anything.
