It's times like this when I wish I could read the mod forum. Does any mod want to loan me their account for like an hour or so? I promise I won't do anything bad.
I think the public should be able to read (but not post in) the mod forum.

Sometimes policy requires strategy, and you can't put all your cards on the table. This isnt about moderator popularity but about effectiveness of policy. Every mod has a small gang of haters breathing down his/her neck so we don't care too much about being popular.
It's true, it can really be a chore to be a moderator sometimes, but its for the greater good.

umm.. code of silence?
Yeah because completely polarizing groups of people into "us" and "them" has always had such good results
I'd support a code of silence over some very important issues; issues where public discussion could pose some sort of threat. But over more petty issues it seems more like an exercise in power and ego.

What really happened? What was really going on under that fro of yours. I know you've been contemplating stepping down..
Was this a case of moderator suicide? Death by Anno?

Posting is less fun when you're a moderator. And a moderator should be someone that loves posting. I didn't love posting anymore. I'm not sure I even do right now. I did last night, but that's because I was fucked up on benzodiazepam and marijuana and looking to bleed words all over empty digital pages.
I'll be a mod again eventually, I'm willing to bet, for now I just needed some alternate perspective. Wanted to be one the plebs.

Welcome back to the proletariat, comrade.
P.S. It was Shiek/Corporal Keilbasa that deleted me from his Myspace friend's list. That asshole! It's retaliation time...

Do you notice how hardly all of the pub mods don't post anymore? I never see Phluck, trendal, or CherryBom.

trendal posts, I've seen him for the past few days at least. Bom is....life is giving Bom a bit of the ol' run-a-round, don't you worry, she'll be back, she's just being her Bom diggity self right now.
Phluck never posts, fer real. Now you got blink though, he's awesome in here too, was a big reason I felt comfortable stepping down.

A little bit from column A, and a little bit from column B.

Yeah, blink still posts. Where's Chinacat and gdman though? Seriously, it's like when people become mods they start to hate the Shroomery or something.
