you have to talk to him about it. the fear of him freaking out is noy a reason to not talk to him. if you guys don't communicate with eachother about stuff because you're afraid the other one will get upset, you're both just going to worry about the other one all the time. I mean, you can't just disappear to Ohio for 4 days and not say anything to him at all....right? He can't tell you what you can and can't do. It's YOUR life, and your decision to make. If he's a good guy, he'll probably worry a bit, yes, but he'll hug you before you go and be glad that you're going to have a good time.
