Is there a mushroom season??

I live in Ohio and I wanted to know when is mushroom season? When is the best time to go patty pickin?

Yer damn skippy theres a season :smile:

Anytime besides winter after a few good rains and when the weather has just been wet in general. Spring on through fall with the best times being just before the hottest month and just after. Ohio is suppose to have Psilocybe caerulipes growing wild there, also Panaeolus subbalteatus.

YEs,

different reggions of the world have different mushroom harvesting seasons. In the Pacifi Northwest it is generally from late July through December.

In Florida it is from April through June and not during the hot summer months but during their rainy season. In Oaxaca, Mexico it is July and August. In Australia and New Zealand it is May Through July.
In Thailand from July through Octrober.

In Ohio, Pasilocybe caerulipes fruits in June and July. In mulched garden beds in public places. Not so common in the wild.
