Ask good questions on Freevibe
    #5325673 -

Freevibe has a section where you can ask questions, and they are answered publicly on their version of a forum. If we try and sound stupid enough, we might get a decent question through. Here's the link:

http://www.freevibe.com/Share/threads.aspx?id=12

This is what I asked...

"My biology teacher was teaching us about Francis Crick, the scientist who discovered DNA. Someone raised their hand and said that Crick was on LSD when he discovered it. I raised my hand and said it coudln't be true, because LSD ruins lives and there's no way a nobel prize winner would take it. What's the truth?"

How many people have died as a result of marijuana overdoses?

To find out statistical information regarding marijuana overdose, you can visit the website of the Office of Applied Studies at www.DrugAbuseStatistics.samhsa.gov. FREEVIBE

i think the thing about crick may be untrue though.

someone should ask why it's okay for native americans to use peyote, but everyone else isn't allowed, because isn't peyote very dangerous and destructive to the mind?

I make a habit of not believing the bullshit people spew here.

And how can you discredit something that the man himself experienced?

I'm not sure, there was a discussion on him stealing the idea from someone else, actually.... links may have even been provided.

I wasn't making a definite assertion, I was just wondering if it was in fact true or not. Lots of drug things are untrue on both sides of the spectrum.

heres my question.

Hi there!
In my world history class, my teacher mentioned that many native american peoples used to use some special mushrooms and some sort of cactus for religious reasons. I found out later that both the mushrooms and cactus were used because they had drugs in them and, i also found out that these drugs are illegal and very bad. I have always liked native americans but, how could they use illegal drugs and, for religion no less. I always though that drugs would lead you away from god. Why would they used drugs for religion and why weren't these drugs illegal in the native cultures?

:uptosomething: somehow i dont think they are gonna be able to put together enoughbs to answer it.

THey'd probably tell you to obey the laws of your society.

that it was okay for them to use, but it's not okay for us to use, because laws = morality no questions asked.

i mean i don't really know how they can address the issue.

Of course he didn't get the idea "from LSD." However, it is very well possible he was under the influence of LSD when he discovered DNA.

Quote:
Rumours circulated later in his life that Crick told a colleague that he had taken small doses of the hallucinogenic drug LSD[23]. However, during his life, Crick was ready to sue anyone who put these rumours into print. Crick was a founding member of a group called SOMA, one of many organizations that has tried to prevent criminalization of cannabis. See: http://www.intuition.org/txt/crick2.htm regarding Crick's comments on L.S.D.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Crick

Taking the views of the majority of the general public (regarding LSD) into account I can completely understand why he would deny being under the influence of LSD at the time he discovered DNA.

My question:

Quote:
I heard from someone that Carl Sagan used to smoke marijuana regularly. But how can this be, since he was a famous scientist, and marijuana causes brain damage?

someone ask about the pitcher that pitched a perfect game on LSD, and why he was able to pitch so amazingly well while on this obviously debilitating drug.

Who looks at this site anyway though, 8-12 year olds?

my question:
"I learned in my history class about the history of LSD recently. It turns out that a psychologist called Timothy Leary did a huge study of the effects of the drug on thousands of people.

Almost all of them said they would do it again, and most of them said that it greatly improved their lives.

If there is such good resarch out there that shows that LSD has positive effects, how come it is called a dangerous drug, and why was it outlawed? I had never heard about this before and thought that all drugs were illegal because they were dangerous and ruined lives, not made your lives better. In fact I even heard that LSD had been used to cure people of alcoholism and criminal behaviors. If that is the case, why is it placed in schedule I so that it cannot be used as a medicine?"

They censor it. Most questions like that don't show up. If you were to ask "OMG MY FRIEND KATIE IS SMOKINT POT HOW LONG UNTIL SHES A CRAKC WHORE" they'd post it with an answer for you. Real questions that go against their agendas aren't going to show up.

that's not the point.

its fun to question the man.

someone ask this:

"Your commercials tell us to make our own decisions and to not let people control our lives, yet you are doing the exact same things by sending one sided messages and saturating the television market."

well its more of a statement.
