Spore drops during harvesting.

Suppose you have some pretty big cakes that provided you with an o.k yeild. Then a day or two before you harvested the finished guys, they started blasting their spores all over the place like a virgin at a cheerleader convention. In the process, the spores heavily cover certain areas of your mycellium. Question is, does the thick layer of spores prevent or impede the growth of shrooms from the areas that are covered?

It may have a small inhibitory effect but I don't think any serious problem. The Mushroom Cultivator is a very solid source of information that is hind of hard to just throw out the window because you don't like what it says. On the other hand, I haven't had a problem with mushrooms not fruiting where spores have dropped...
