To birth or not to birth...

Well I'm on my second attempt at growing. I current have 10 BRF jars incubating. About half of them are done and the rest have a couple days left. It's current 2/16 and I'm going to be out of town from 3/3-3/9. If these jars finish colonizing in the next couple days, should I birth them or is there not enough time? I don't think two weeks is long enough. My second question is, if I shouldn't birth them yet, how should I go about storing the colonized jars? From what I read, I should store them in a dark place at room temp. I'm concerned, cause they will be fully colonized and be sitting around for almost 3 weeks. Will they use up all their nutrients or maybe even die from lack of water or something?

They will last until your back, wrap aluminum foil around the colonized jars and put them in the fridge, they will go dormant in there, then just dunk and fruit them!!!

Excellent question! I have seen this answered before too.
My suggestion would be to keep them at room temp. If you PCed them, contams shouldnt be a problem.

Ok, so once they're all done, I'll wrap them and put them in the fridge. In the mean time, I think I'll inoculated some more jars, so they'll be done incubating by the time I get back 3 weeks from now. I can't just sit around for the next 3 weeks knowing I have fully colonized jars sitting in the fridge . Thanks DJ.

Sorry to bring this post back up but I just wrapped my jars in foil and put them in the fridge. Is it ok that some cakes have primordia popping up in the jars?
