putting cakes in fridge for 1 week

I have 17 nice Hawaiian cakes on their second flush. I also have 3 Mazatapecs that won't quit --8th flush-- and half a dozen old Hawaiian cakes that still flush --lost count. The newer Hawaiians are almost ready to be picked. I plan on putting all the cakes into individual jars in a big tupperware container in my fridge while I'm outta town. Any suggestions? Should I dunk first --maybe for 4 hours just to rehydrate a bit? Thanks

A refrigerator is about 99% contams, do NOT put your cake in the fridge with nothing but a plastic bag protecting it. I would put it in a zip-lock bag at least.
When i cold shocked mine i put it into a 1 pint canning jar in a zip-lock bag and it worked fine....

I'm not kidding. These Maz cakes have been swell. I tried to put a picture in but the upload isn't working right now. The last flushes are nothing to brag about. But I am always amazed at how they keep putting out just when I think it's over. I remember reading that you put your cakes in the 8 oz. jars and put them in the fridge and they go dormant.

DO NOT dunk your cakes before putting them in the fridge. Wrap them in foil and then seal the AIR tight. They will stay this way vegetively in the fridge until you return without problems.

Bluemeanie: I've heard of people dunking and cold shocking simutaneously and having success with large yields. Can you dunk them in an airtight container before throwing them in the fridge to avoid contams?
Thanks
