Casing with potting mix - Miracle Grow ala Scotts.

Id like some opinions from the folks here about this: I am thinking about trying to use miracle grow potting mix and vermiculite as a casing layer. I have a couple of bags of each lying around at the time. The potting mix is very light and airy even when moistened the proper level.
The ingredient list (in this order) on the potting mix is:
Sphagnum Peat Moss Composted bark fines Perlite A wetting agent. (might be coir by the looks.) Nutrients
I planned on sifting it too remove the large crap and mixing with vermiculite, pasteurize and use for casing.
Any thoughts on the subject? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply. It might be easier to just find coir. I plan a huter/gatherer meeting at the WallyMart tonight. I'll see if they have coir in the pet section if not, I'll hit PetFart tomorrow.
BTW, your lighing tek is very nicely done!

Peat is better from what I hear, but you have to check the Ph and use a buffer, no biggie lest a little more then Coco coir.
I ues Coco Coir, just have not moved up to peat yet,
Good Luck

You said the mix was still airy when wet, so the texture sounds good, but I would be concerned with the "nutrients" part.
I've used Jiffy Mix with good results:
