Is Miracle-Grow Vermiculite OK????

Today I bought a bag of Miracle-Grow Vermiculite. I was reading the back of it and it says it has liquid fertilizer added, will this still be ok for a cake and casing?

I plan on using the PF Tek ethod of making a cake, then breaking it up and using the
ShroomGod's Straw Tek. Will this be ok? In his plan he uses sesame seed cake instead of vermiculite/brown rice.

And I got one more question. In his method he says a good casing is 8 parts peat moss, 8 parts vermiculite, 1 part lime flour. Can I just crush up some Dolomite Lime to use for lime flour? Are they the same thing?

Thanks all... I'm new to this and am sure I will think of some more questions.

That brand of vermiculite with the added fertilizer works just fine.Not sure if the fertilizer helps the growth or not,but it doesn't seem to hurt it.

Sorry for replying to such and old post, but wanted to share my exp. Sorry if this is already common knowledge but..

I'm a first time grower, and at first picked up the miracle-gro verm, then got nervous about the 'additives' and whatnot so went out and got some regular Shultz verm. When I was making the jars, I decided to do one jar with the MG and the rest with Shultz, as an experiment. Now, after 1 wk in the terrarium, the MG cake is fruiting like crazy, while the others are coming along, but much slower. Just felt like sharing.

Also, does anyone have any exp. with "Jungle Growth" verm? I have a bag of that, too.

A FOAF adds miricle grow to the mix and it hasn't hurt. Miricle grow is a weak fertilizer so no worries man.
