Ok so ive seen you guys differ on this a little so i just wanted to know who out there places your coolmist directly INTO your martha or whatever... or do ya think it is necessary to hook it up OUTSIDE your terr?

Cool mists provide FAE, so put it on the outside
You could stick a wick humidifier inside if you wanted to.

See i was thinkin bout puttin it in for stealth reasons, those things are lound as fuck an if just set up right out the box without the hoses in shit it would def. be quieter... just wonderin cuz ive seen some say they dont have a prob w/ FAE
Oh and how would a wick humidifier work... is that an ultrasonic or a coolmist... i mean mainly for humidity or FAE.. what about some bubble stones in a jar?

I keep mine inside and simply have a loose fitting door and a few air vents cut for air exchange. Works like a charm. Control your spore drops however. When heavy spore loads get sucked into the humidifier, they trash the motor after awhile. RR

Wick humidifiers pull air through a wet filter thing to humidify it. They're mainly to kick up the RH% a little.

Don't think that'll work for a Martha size setup.
Best combo for something that size (or bigger ) is a cool mist for FAE and a ultrasonic for RH% control.

you could do like roger.
put it on the inside and then provide another source of FAE. like an automated computer fan.

It works to put it inside. Defeats the entire purpose of why I came up with the thing in the first place though.

i tried doig what RR did and all i can say is...
"no sir, i don't like it."
i'm sure it works for him and he knows more than i do. but, for me, it was crap. i was using a turkey baster ever night to suck water out the bottom of my Martha. if i wasnt such a neat freak it probably could get stagnant quick, even w/ H202
can you not fit/or find a way to hook up your coolmist tubing? its fairly easyand it works aot better if you cant stay home all day tending to what should be a semi-automated setup.

Hey krill what's up.
Put two holes in the bottom of your martha and put a driveway pan under it to catch the water. Pull out the pan and dump if needed. Easy to do and you can keep the martha closed.

magash - do you keep the humidifier on the bottom of the martha? when i had it setup last year i had it outside the martha with a tube running into it. the humidity in the bottom of the martha was always below where it should have been because the tube came in at the top. i thought the motor would get shot with it being in the martha, wasn't that the whole reason for keeping it outside? also for the fresh-air exchange ?

Ok so howsa bout this... cutting out a hole just large enough for the coolmist to stick out past the air filter, that is assuming i get one where the filter is on one of the ends... then sealing up w/ epoxy or something... this is such a big issue for me cuz of the loudness of it i assumer it wont be as bad if i dont hook up the hoses and i dont want to waste the money on one if ill just have to try somethin new anyway... thanks

There should be no water dripping from the cool mist to the bottom of the greenhouse. Zero. If there is, you're running it too long. Mine needs 7 to 10 minutes of running before the first drop falls to the floor. My timer is set to run for 5 minutes, off for fifteen. It's on a middle shelf. RR

What's the verdict on this? Is putting only a V420 on the inside of the Martha acceptable? I'm setting up my first Martha as we speak and dont really want to hook up hoses and shit. I could cut a small hole in the vinyl near where the coolmist is put a computer case fan in there to supply some FAE to the coolmist if necessary. Or, i can hook up an aerator and drop the stone right next to the coolmist intake. What do you guys think? That way i dont have to modifiy it and can do the never-ending refund thingy at wally world.
